Who is responsible
Earl A.O. Hazel is responsible for the personal data described here. Write to Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands VG1110, or email contact@eaohazel.dev.
Inquiry form
What I collect. Your name, email address and message, and the optional company, budget and timeline fields if you fill them in.
Why. To read your message, reply to it, and keep a record of the conversation.
Legal basis. Your consent, which you give by sending the form, and taking the steps you ask for before any agreement is made. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing me.
Only I can see inquiries. They are never used for marketing and are never sold or shared for advertising.
Analytics
What I collect. Which pages are viewed, which buttons are clicked, the page you came from, and your browser, operating system and device type. Your IP address is used when a visit arrives to work out an approximate location (country) and an anonymous visitor identifier, and is not stored. No cookies are set, and no names, email addresses or message text are recorded.
Why. To see which parts of the site are useful and which are not.
Legal basis. Your consent, given through your browser: nothing is collected if your browser sends Do Not Track, and you can block it at any time with a tracker blocker.
Who else receives data
I do not sell your data. These providers handle it on my behalf, only to run the site:
- Hostinger, which hosts the server that stores inquiries and analytics.
- Hostinger (email), which carries the notification of each inquiry to my inbox.
- Google Cloud Storage (Google), which keeps encrypted copies of the database. I hold the key; Google cannot read them.
Transfers outside the BVI
Hostinger and Google may store or process data in countries outside the British Virgin Islands, the European Union and the United Kingdom. Data is encrypted in transit, backups are encrypted before they leave the server, and each provider is bound by its own data protection terms.
How long I keep it
- Inquiries: up to 12 months from the date you sent them, then deleted automatically.
- Analytics: 90 days, then deleted automatically.
- Backups: encrypted copies are removed after 30 days, so a deleted inquiry can remain in a backup for up to that long.
I delete an inquiry sooner if you ask me to.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, have it corrected or erased, restrict how I use it, object to its use for direct marketing (I send none), and withdraw consent. Email contact@eaohazel.dev and I will respond within one month.
Complaints
Please contact me first so I can put things right. You can also complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner of the Virgin Islands at gis@gov.vg. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can complain to your own data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK.
